Good morning everyone.
I have been doing a lot of work on the outside this past week even though it's been raining every day. I almost have the front porch and flower bed finished so I will be revealing that later this week. Just a couple more things to do. But for today I thought I would show you the Spring Wreath I made for the porch.
I wanted something that shouted Spring out there this year. So I went to Michael's Saturday and picked out these flowers and a 12" grapevine wreath. Michael's had all their Spring flowers on 50-75% off in our store and I was thrilled at the savings I was able to get.
This is a very simple wreath to put together. So simple I didn't take any pictures during the process.
You will need:
2 bushes each with 5-7 blossoms of one type of flower - I bought the green cabbage roses
2 bushes each with 5-7 blossoms of a contrasting color flower - I bought the pink daisies
12" grapevine wreath
wire cutters
glue gun and glue sticks
about 1 1/2 yards burlap ribbon
I simply cut all the bushes apart with the wire cutters and then just began sticking the stems of the flowers into the grapevine wreath. Then to make sure they didn't move I placed a dot of glue here and there to hold the flowers to the grapevine wreath itself.
I then tied a double bow with some 3" burlap ribbon I had on hand. You can use any type of ribbon you like. It took me about an hour to make the whole wreath because I was watching TV while doing it.
So Springy and I love how it looks with the black door behind it. I love how simple it is to make wreaths and how in no time at all you can have something so pretty to hang on your front door.
What flowers would you use to make a Spring wreath? Are you in the midst of your Spring decorating or are you all done? I am still working on mine and may be for a while.

Pretty! I think I would go with red tulips and white daisys.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I like soft colors for spring, so I think I would use anything in the soft pinks and blues and purples. haha
ReplyDeleteI am already envisioning a sunflower one for Summer. :)
I also have a dark door and I would go with white, green and yellows for a pop. I loved you used begonia leaves, so beautiful. :)
