This is the toolbox that I painted last Spring. You can read all about it's transformation here. But for this year I wanted to change it up a bit.
I wrapped it with some 3 inch burlap ribbon that has a vintage French motif printed on it. Then I wrapped some twine around it and added a twine "flower" I made. This was made simply by wrapping the twine around three of my fingers, tying it in the center and then gluing it in place.
I filled it with some Styrofoam blocks to take up some of the space and then covered them with some dried moss. Then I placed some "faux" daffodils and some peat pots I painted. I added a "faux" nest made of some more dried moss, twine and twigs from the yard and a couple of blue wooden eggs. The last thing to go in is the brown bird with blue wings that match the eggs. This I bought at Michael's this Spring to add to my ever growing collection.
And there you have it. A quick simple piece to bring a bit of Spring to your home. And the best part is I had all the items except the bird already. I love shopping my craft stash for new looks for each season. How about you?

ReplyDeleteCathy, this centerpiece is adorable, and so are your coasters. Thank you co-hosting the One More Time Party - I know it must take a lot of time because there are so many guests! (a good problem to have!). Have a great week.

Love how you dressed it up Cathy! I was looking at my plain white box I painted a couple years ago the other day and thought that I might dress it up a little this year as well. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
