Summer is here and school will be ending this week. That means lots of busy days with activities and family fun and celebrations. One of the events we look forward to each summer is 4th of July. Our family just loves to get together grill, swim and sit out under the stars to watch the fireworks. It's such a fun time for each of us. So, today I thought I would share one of the Patriotic 4th of July wreaths I just made.
This is a front view of it. I did not write a tutorial for the construction of it but will tell you a bit about it. I hope to make a video of how to make one of these wreaths in the future. This wreath is made with a wire frame you can find at the Dollar Tree. I start by using a base of deco mesh and with this one, it is a red, white, and blue mesh I put it on in puffs held by pipe cleaners.
Next, I added two layers of ribbons. The first layer is made of 12" lengths of red deco mesh and a 2" blue denim wire edged ribbon. The second layer is made of 12" lengths of a 2" brown linen with blue star wire edged ribbon and a 1 1/2" burlap and lace wire edged ribbon. These two layers are held by the pipe cleaners. The ribbon layers add so much texture, fullness, and interest to this wreath.
Lastly, I added a chalkboard sign done in red, white, and blue patriotic words and sayings. Some have a bit of glitter added to them that make it ever so special.
Here's another picture of it hanging on the door. I love how it turned out. I have listed this in my Etsy shop at:
https://www.etsy.com/shop/vintagepaintandmoreref=search_shop_redirect if you would like to have it hanging on your front door this summer. This wreath measures 22".
Do you celebrate summer with specially made wreaths for your front door or porch? I love making one for each holiday and season. Don't forget to come back as I will be sharing more summer celebrations decor over the next few days.
